Habanero is proud to announce that its 2007 United Way employee campaign was a resounding success. Now in its sixth consecutive campaign year, the Habanero team was again awarded an Employee Gold Award by delivering strong results: close to 80% of Habanero's 49 employees donated, raising close to $20,000.
The team raised money and fostered the spirit of giving in a variety of ways during the November 2-9, 2007 campaign. Instead of enjoying the regular Habanero-provided Friday lunch, the staff decided to host a potluck lunch and donate the equivalent cost to the campaign. A representative from United Way came to speak about the people the organization helps, and staff participated in office 50/50 BINGO games. Also, as a reward for meeting targets, Habanero's leaders, Steven Fitzgerald and Elliot Fishman, cooked up a pancake breakfast for all donors.
